An African Safari Adventure
In our topic this half term, we will be exploring Africa. In Geography, we have been learning about the continents and oceans of the world. We have used an atlas to find the continent of Africa and begun to learn a bit more about this huge continent. This half term, we will be focussing on the Savannah grasslands of Africa and the animals that live there.
Our focus stories are: 'We're Going on a Lion Hunt' by David Axtell, a retelling of a classic story, and 'Lion Inside' by Rachel Bright and Jim Field, about an unlikely friendship between a mouse and a lion.
Our first day back to school started the topic off, with the class talking about Africa and what we know already, asking questions, watching videos and discussing pictures, making some African artwork and African drums.
Take a look at the learning leaflets below to see what else we will be learning this half term.
