Our Curriculum Vision
At Matchborough First School Academy we offer a full, rich and varied curriculum in which children develop a curiosity and love for learning. We cover a wide range range of subjects and provide opportunities for academic, creative and sporting achievement.
We deliver a broad and rich curriculum. The breadth of our curriculum prepares children for later life in a modern Britain, enabling them to develop life long skills which can ultimately create and change life chances. We have a designed a curriculum with progression, achievement and mastery at its core. As children progress through the school they continuously gain skills and revisit these to consolidate and build upon them.
Our school values and principles underpin the design and implementation of our exciting and varied curriculum to ensure its impact on pupils’ outcomes and their personal development, behaviour and welfare. The range of subjects we offer helps pupils acquire knowledge, understanding and skills in all aspects of their education, including the humanities and linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technical, social, physical and artistic learning.
To promote a love of learning
To provide a happy, safe and secure learning environment
To equip children with the confidence, independence and life skills they need to achieve in later life
To give every child the opportunity to achieve academically and in respect of their individual talents and interests
To offer a wide range of learning opportunities that are fun, creative and memorable
To ensure children understand the value of the local and wider community, and also reach out to the wider world to develop the global citizens of the future
Our well-designed curriculum is like an intricate web of connections that reinforces the importance of transferable and memorable knowledge and skills.
