What do the school governors do?
Governors work with the senior leaders in the strategic development of the school.
They attend regular governor meetings and carry out school visits, both formal and fun.
They work as a team, alongside the Headteacher, to make collective decisions.
Below is the current list of Matchborough First School Academy governors, along with their role within the governors and their subject or area of responsibility within school.
To find out more about your school governors also see regular articles in the newsletter and the governor's display/notice board in the reception area in the main school.

I have been a Community Governor at Matchborough for two years. I grew up in Redditch but now live in Evesham and work in Redditch in the aerospace industry. In my spare time I like to enjoy time with my children and family. Anthony Headley
I have lived in Matchborough for over 30 years, the married Mum of three. I am an experienced Governor and have been a Parent, Community and Local Authority Governor. My children have all attended local schools. In 1997 I was elected as the first Parent Governor Representative for Worcestershire serving on the Education Committee representing Parents and helping to shape and scrutinise Education policy. I am also the current Redditch Borough Councillor for Matchborough ward and in 2018-19 I served as the Mayor of Redditch. When not performing civic duties I enjoy walking our dogs, reading , crochet, baking cakes and spending time with my Grandchildren. Juliet Brunner
I feel privileged to be a Parent Governor. I want to be part of the team that ensures MFSA continues to be a place where children can thrive, learn and grow. My husband and I moved to Redditch over 30 years ago. We've been married for 25 years now and have 2 beautiful children and a puppy!!! My career to date has mainly been focused around accounts however, I've worked as PA/EA to Senior Management, Commercial Analyst and Commercial Office Manager. I even worked as the Clerk to the Governing body at another school for a while! I'm currently a self-employed bookkeeper. My passion is reporting, creating forms and data analysis - anything with a spreadsheet and number crunching!
I also have a very creative side so love getting stuck into "crafty" projects and enjoy hobbies such as knitting, sewing, paper craft and more. I believe I have a broad range of skills and life experience to bring to the table and look forward to serving MFSA's parents, pupils and staff for as long as they'll have me! Lisa Marriott
