Sweet Treats!
Our topic for the whole summer term is 'Sweet Treats'. We are starting off our topic with activities and learning linked to the book 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl. The children are enjoying listening to the story at the end of each day. In English, we will be imagining that we are the lucky winners of a Golden Ticket and have visited Willy Wonka's factory! We will be describing the Chocolate Room, writing a setting description.
In other lessons, over the coming weeks, we will be learning about the history of exploration, including the discovery of chocolate by Europeans. We will be learning where chocolate comes from and locating chocolate producing regions on a map. In science, we will focus on tropical rainforest habitats, learning about the animals and plants that live there. We will be naming, labelling, describing, comparing and sorting animals into groups. In Art and DT we will be designing packaging for a sweet invention, in the style of Pop Artist Andy Warhol.
We are also currently busy creating a Sweet Shop in our role play area.
What a lot of learning we have to squeeze into our final term! Keep taking a look here, to see some of the work that we are doing.
Cadbury World Trip (10.06.25)
What a fantastic time we all had on our trip to the Chocolate Factory (Cadbury World)! The children all behaved beautifully, and were great ambassadors for MFSA. Well done all!
Here are just some of the activities from our day:
What a busy day! I am sure there will be some tired children tonight! Take a look at the pictures below to see some of the highlights.
Strawberries! (02.06.25)
All the lovely weather has really helped our class garden plants grow. We have had a bumper crop of strawberries. We picked the ripe strawberries this morning and enjoyed them at morning snack-time. We counted 50 in total! They were so juicy! Hopefully we will get some more over the next few weeks.
