Year 2

All the staff in Year 2 hope you are safe and well and we thank you for your patience and support!

This page is for you to access  Year 2 lessons and contains activities for you to complete whilst you are at home. Some of the activities are online and some you can complete with paper and pencils/pens. This is what we would be learning about in school and we would like you to try to complete some of it each day.

Government guidelines for home learning are 3 hours of work per day. Below is a timetable of our daily lessons in school and the work we will be providing for your child. We understand that there may be barriers to remote learning but we appreciate any learning towards this target that you can achieve! Please try not to feel overwhelmed by the amount of work but try to focus on Maths and English lessons if you can. We would prefer to give you plenty of work than not enough.

Ultimately we want you and your families to keep safe!

We also do not expect you to print everything out. However, you can if you want to. Most of the activities can be done with just a pencil and a piece of paper and you can just write down the answers.

We are inviting you to wear red to your Zoom lessons today and, at some time during the day, look over the resources so you understand what Healthy Heart Day is all about. It raises awareness of cardiovascular disease and educates on how to keep a healthy heart.

We would love to hear of you completing some challenges at home and, as always, will be pleased to receive any photos or explanations of what you have got up to!

*Please note the order of the afternoon foundation subject lessons may alter

In our PSHE lessons, we follow the jigsaw programme. They have provided some free stories to share with your children during this difficult time.

Jigsaw PSHE offers parents and children two of our original stories from the Jigsaw Families Programme:

Fowley’s Wings (Fowley follows his dreams)

The Switch Watch (A family and their crazy dog called Bongo work out how to enjoy each others’ company)

Follow the link below to listen to the stories and have some calm down time.

The Oak National Academy have created a virtual school library in  partnership with the National Literacy Trust.  Every week a popular children's author or illustrator will provide you with free books, exclusive videos and their top three recommended reads. It also includes free writing and reading activities to do at home.
