Our new tricky word is:

Read the word. Remember tricky words cannot be sounded out like most of the words we read in phonics.

 

When you are confident you can read the word,

 

Look at it, say it, cover it, write it, check it

 

If you spell it correctly 3 times in a row, write a sentences with the word 'there' in.

Please remember, your child should be spending 1 hour on Maths a day. Half an hour of this lesson is delivered on zoom and the second half an hour is available in Teach it, Twist it and Deepen it activities. Please do not access these activities until after the Zoom session. Thank you.

Today, you will use these symbols to compare number sentences

It is important to check you have the right answers to your calculations before comparing them.

PHONICS

You should be spending half an hour a day on your phonics activities.

 

The Phase 3 grapheme we are revising, the Phase 5 grapheme is a new sound for you to try

ear

Today we will be revisiting the 'ear' trigraph.

Look at the poster to see where the 'ear' grapheme is found in words.

Our new sound for today is 'eer' like 'ear'.

This trigraph is mostly found at the end of words.

WALT plan a story

 

Using the character you created yesterday and the story of Supertato, plan your own version of the story using your character as the hero.

 

Plan your version of the story using the Story Mountain to help you.

 

Think about the different adjectives you came up with to decide what they will do to save the day.

We would like you to have a go at showing the life cycle of a potato.

 

Can you put the four pictures (in the PDF) in order and name each stage?

 

Challenge: Can you write a short sentence about what each stage involves?

Art WALT sketch and shade

 

Today we are going to sketch a picture of a vegetable. This can be a vegetable of your choice. We would like you to use shading to show dark and light parts. 


We use shading in drawings for showing a range of darkness where our object is shadowed. You could use a darker shade for darker areas (by pressing harder with your pencil) and a lighter shade for lighter areas.
