Welcome to Turtles Class
Merry Christmas Turtle Class
We worked so hard and had lots of fun learning our Christmas song 'I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas'. Please click the link below to see a video of us performing it. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Sit back and enjoy.
We are so pleased you chose Matchborough First School Academy to start your child's first stage of their education and can't wait to share their learning journey with you. We will be regularly updating this page with pictures and information to keep you updated with the fun we are having in school.
Drop off and pick up times
As you are aware we now have a one way system and staggered drop off and pick up times.
Turtle class drop off window is 9:00 - 9:10 and pick up is
3:10 - 3:20.
Please stick to these times to ensure we have the minimum amount of people on the school grounds at one time.
Turtle class PE day is Wednesday.
On this day children should come to school in their PE kit. In the colder months this can be a tracksuit (black/navy blue) and trainers. If your child wants to wear their PE shorts underneath they can or just the tracksuit is fine.
Spring 2 Learning
Our vehicle for our learning in the Spring Term will be
A Magic Carpet Ride
Intent – For children to know about the lives of different people in different countries around the world.
Implementation – A hook day will begin the topic where the children dress as if they are going on a holiday and are taught about the earth. Through the topic the children will travel to different countries and learn about animals, dress, food and language.
Impact – The children will have a greater understanding of differences in people and their lives.
Why now? – The children will have knowledge of the UK through British Heritage day so this topic is extending their knowledge of Geography and the world they live in.
