Our new tricky word is:
Read the word. Remember tricky words cannot be sounded out like most of the words we read in phonics.
When you are confident you can read the word,
Look at it, say it, cover it, write it, check it
If you spell it correctly 3 times in a row, write a sentences with the word 'could' in.
Please remember, your child should be spending 1 hour on Maths a day. Half an hour of this lesson is delivered on zoom and the second half an hour is available in Teach it, Twist it and Deepen it activities. Please do not access these activities until after the Zoom session. Thank you.

After reading the words, choose one from each picture and write it in a sentence.

WALT solve riddles
This week we are going to be learning about riddles.
A riddle is a type of poem that works like a puzzle.
It gives you about 'something' and you have to work out what the 'something' is.
For example ...
I am yellow and brown.
I eat leaves.
I life in Africa.
I have a long neck.
What am I?
Your task today is to read the riddles below with an adult and see if you can work out any of the answers. We will discuss these answers on Thursday on Zoom. Good luck!
Each subject should take you an hour to complete.
DT WALT peel and chop vegetables
Today we would like you to make a vegetable soup.
The skills we want you to focus on are peeling and chopping the vegetables. Make sure there is an adult with you and you are sensible when handling knives or peelers. They are sharp and can be dangerous if not used correctly. Below is an example of a soup recipe but feel free to use any recipe that you like.
When you have made the soup, we would love you to evaluate it once you have had a chance to try it. Think about what went well, what your favourite part was or what you would do differently next time.
