Today we are looking at the graphemes 'ai' 'ay' 'eigh' and 'ey'.

We know digraphs have 2 letters and make 1 sound and trigraph have 3 letters and make 1 sound.

'eigh' is a quadgraph because it has 4 letters and makes 1 sound.

Please go to book 25 - pages 1-2 online.

Have a go at reading the words and the spelling activities.

WALT select effective captions

We know that a caption is one or two sentences written about what is happening in a picture.

A caption must have a capital letter and full stop for each sentence.

Today, we are asking you to identify effective captions. This means you will need to choose the caption that makes the most sense to the picture it is paired with.

For example:

Which caption best fits the picture?

I can't see his socks and it doesn't look like he is running.

So, I think the most effective caption is:

FOUNDATION SUBJECTS

Each subject should take you an hour to complete.

PE WALT copy movements

Using the link below, choose a Cosmic Kids Yoga story to complete.

Copy the lady's movements and enjoy the story.

PSHE WALT overcome obstacles

Today we are learning about how to overcome obstacles when working towards our dreams or goals.

We are going to use the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ to show this. Read/listen to the story together and discuss the difficulties that the children had to overcome along the way.

Can you act out the different obstacles that they faced?

Reinforce that their challenge was difficult and that sometimes we all face obstacles when we are working towards a goal.

How do you think the children felt every time they faced an obstacle?
Can you think of a time you have found something difficult?

What did you do to overcome it?

We would like you to draw a picture and write a sentence to show how you overcame the challenge you faced.
