English

WALT: Use adverbs

An adverb describes a verb. Remember a verb is usually an action or a 'doing word.'

An adverb gives us more detail about how the action took place. For example:

He ate his dinner quickly.

"Get on with your homework quietly," Mum said.

Adverbs don't always end in 'ly' but it can be an easy way to help remember it.  They can also describe where something is (above, below), when something happened (yesterday, today)or even how often something happens (weekly).

Find out more here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zwwp8mn/articles/zgsgxfr

Your task today is to add the adverbs to the story of the three little pigs to try to improve it and add more detail.

WALT: Count edges and vertices on 3D shapes

Yesterday we learnt about the faces on 3D shapes. Today we will learn more about the edges and vertices. Imagine you are on a cliff, there is an edge where you could fall off. Imagine this on a 3D shapes, it is the straight or curved line where you could fall off!

An edge is where two faces meet.

Vertices - A vertex is a corner where edges meet. The plural is vertices. For example a cube has 8 vertices.

WALT-Identify the differences between school life now and in Victorian times.

Today you are going to learn about school life in the Victorian Times ( the past) and compare it to present day school life .

You will need to watch the video clip and read the information in the Victorian School PDF (found below). This will give you all the information that you need to carry out your task .

Once you have watched the video and read the PDF you will need to either draw a venn diagram with the labels Past and Present or you can print off the sheets .

After you have your venn diagram ready you can then start sorting the objects according to the labels. Again the objects can either be draw/ written on or if you can you can print ,cut and stick them onto your venn diagram.
