English
WALT: use expanded noun phrases to describe a character.
Remember a noun is a Person, Place or Thing.
We use adjectives to describe nouns.
If we put one adjective in front of a noun it is a noun phrase.
example:
mean wolf
I I
adjective noun
If we put two or more adjectives in front of a noun it is an expanded noun phrase.
example:
sly , mean wolf
I I I
adjective adjective noun
Adjectives come before the noun and are separated by a comma.
Task
Describe the wolf's features.
Choose some nouns. ie. his ears, teeth, tail etc. and add two adjectives in front of them to describe them. Can you use a thesaurus to find synonyms (better words)?
Too Tricky?!...
Just choose one adjective to describe the noun.
Remember you will not need a comma.
example:
huge tail
I I
adjective noun
Maths
WALT: draw the other half using symmetry.
Do you remember what symmetry is?
Can you explain what makes something symmetrical?
Today you are going to draw the other half of a shape or picture working from a line of symmetry.
We can use squares and a RULER to help us do this accurately.
You will need to count the squares from the line of symmetry.
Remember to be symmetrical it has to be EXACTLY THE SAME on either side!
