Today we are going to explore the problem of Plastic Pollution

We have chosen a book to highlight this and It is called “Somebody Swallowed Stanley” by Sarah Roberts and Hannah Peck. It reminds us about how dangerous it is for sea creatures if plastic gets into the sea.

Have a listen to the story.

Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts

Unfortunately, just like in this story, lots of plastic really does end up in the sea and can hurt sea creatures who get stuck in it or think that it is food, just like in these pictures.

Today's  learning will help you to find out how you can help to stop so much plastic ending up in the sea. Here is a great song, that will help you understand what can happen if plastic does end up in the sea:

TASK

Make a Recycled sea creature: Create your own sea creatures using recycled materials to save the items ending up in the sea. Tell other people about your recycled art to remind them of the dangers of rubbish getting into the oceans.

Or have a go at making a Jelly Fish in a bottle:
