Today we are going to plan our poetry review of I Opened a Book by Julia Donaldson.
Look back at Monday to remind yourself of facts about Julia Donaldson (they are all on the power point).
You need to point out some interesting lines and words and what they mean to you. Think about how the poem makes you feel and who you think would enjoy the poem.
Now think about what star rating you would give the poem.
Remember when you plan you don't need to write full sentences as long as your notes are clear to you.
I opened a book and in I strode
Now nobody can find me.
I’ve left my chair, my house, my road.
My town and my world behind me.
I’m wearing the cloak, I’ve slipped on the ring,
I’ve swallowed the magic potion.
I’ve fought with a dragoon, dined with a king
And dived in a bottomless ocean.
I opened a book and made some friends.
I shared their tears and laughter
And followed their road with its bumps and bends
To the happily ever after.
I finished my book and out I came.
The cloak can no longer hide me.
My chair and my house are just the same,
But I have a book inside me.

Maths
Today we are going to be comparing lengths using <, > and =
To work out
27cm > 49mm
Convert to the same measurement so either
27cm and 4.9cm
or
270mm and 49mm
It will make it much easier for you to compare doing it like this
