Thursday 4th March

Our book focus today is

Morning Job

Today we would like you to try and answer the Maths questions below. These are questions that we have covered before so see what you can remember and just try your best.

PHONICS

You should be spending half an hour a day on your phonics activities.

Please don't go any further than the sound that we are learning but feel free to go back to any previous sounds or books.

Today we are looking at the phoneme 'oa'.

We will be learning to make this sound using the graphemes

'oe' 'o_e' 'ough' and 'eau'.

Please go to book 26 - pages 7 - 8 online.

Have a go at reading the words and the spelling activities.

Session 1

Please remember, half an hour of this lesson is delivered on zoom and the second half an hour is available in the uploaded activities. Please do not access these activities until after the Zoom session. Thank you.

For today's Zoom you will need your favourite book.

Think about what you would like to tell us about your favourite book:

What is your favourite part? Why?

Who is your favourite character? Why?

Are they a hero? How do you know?

Is there anything you would change about the book?

You might also want to read us your favourite page.

Your activity this morning is to write a review about your favourite book. There are two review formats to choose from, you do not need to do both of them.

Session 2

Please remember, half an hour of this lesson is delivered on zoom and the second half an hour is available in the uploaded activities. Please do not access these activities until after the Zoom session. Thank you.

In Geography on Monday you researched a non-European country.

Today, you are organising an adventure for Paddington Bear. You might want to choose the same country you chose on Monday or maybe even research a different one for him to visit.

Things to think about:

Where is Paddington going?

How will he get there?

What will the weather be like?

What will he need to pack?

What landmarks will he visit?

Complete the activity sheet below.

You might even want to make him some tickets.

We would love to see what adventures you have planned for Paddington.

FOUNDATION SUBJECTS

Each subject should take you an hour to complete.

This afternoon, we would like you to have a go at making your very own Paddington Bear.

You could do this using a toilet roll tube or a paper plate.

Don't worry if you haven't got different coloured card or paper, you could always use paint or felt tip pens.

Paddington Bear Craft

Have a go at making yourself a marmalade sandwich.

Follow the simple steps in the ppt below and then complete the evaluation sheet.

Give each section a star rating (5 being the best) and write a few words / adjectives to describe the appearance, texture and taste of the sandwich.

At the end of the evaluation, think about what went well (the star), as well as what you would do differently next time or what you want to improve on (the wish).

I wonder if you will enjoy your sandwich as much as Paddington does.

Send us pictures of your finished sandwiches and even your faces when you try it.
