Spring Term 2 - Into the Deep, Dark Woods

Out of this world! - Space Day

08.03.2022 - 1OB had a fantastic day of science today! In the morning we learnt all about the Apollo 11 Mission to land on the moon. We watched the Saturn V rocket take off and the Apollo team land on the moon. We learnt about what it is like to be an astronaut and thought about what an astronaut would need to take on a trip to space. We then made our own straw rockets and tested how to make them fly the furthest.

In the afternoon, we were very creative, making our own moon buggies.

..... If you go into the woods today......

Today (Tues 1st March), the class went into our school forest, looking for anything new and unusual. We used maps to explore different parts of the forest. Guess what we found?!

An owl, a fox, a snake, a mouse, tusks, teeth, fur and purple spikes....

We took photos and collected each of the things we had found.

We decided it must be from 'The Gruffalo'! A second look around the forest and we found him!

In the forest school - look what we found!
