World #HelloYellow. Day, this year is on Saturday 10th October. To show our support and raise awareness of and the importance of seeking support. We are going to join in with the Young Minds Campaign
HelloYellow Day raises awareness for the charity Young Minds, which is committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and of children and young people. We are going to hold our HelloYellow Day On Monday 12th October so pupils and parents can wear yellow in there zoom lesson or email their year group email accounts with pictures which we can upload on our website.
Whether it’s a scarf, hat, or your favourite bow tie, dig out your best yellow clothes and wear them with pride during your Zoom lessons on Monday 12th October.
You could even dress up in yellow fancy dress. The Simpsons, minions, emojis, a banana costume. We’d love to see your colourful outfits!
We have all felt and seen the effects of isolation over the past few months. This time has been especially hard for young people and parents. As well as wearing something yellow on Monday we are going to do an activity to celebrate how brave the children have been at Matchborough First School Academy.
We would like the children to make their own puppets of themselves being brave, these will be their puppets to help them be brave. This could be made from old socks, paper plates or any junk modelling material.
Sharon Frampton (Family support worker) will come in all zoom lessons throughout the week to see their Brave puppets and children can tell Sharon why they are Brave. Their Brave puppets can then be used to put their hands up in their zoom lesson as well. If your child in unable to access Zoom lessons we would love to pictures of your puppets, so please email them yo your year group email addresses.
This is a great opportunity to bring children together after a difficult time and show that as a school we care about how they feel. It’s a chance to emphasize the importance of looking out for each other and get everyone feeling hopeful about the future.
All the children have been so brave at Matchborough First School Academy and want to celebrate their bravery for World Mental Health awareness Day.
We are delighted to inform you that we will be providing teacher led lessons for all children at home via Zoom during the school closure.
Each class will have a two 30 minute lessons; one in the morning and one in the afternoon at the set times on the table below.
Zoom can be accessed via mobile phone, tablet, PC or laptop, we hope this will allow all children to log in and access the learning daily.
In each lesson there will be a teacher and teaching assistant present. The teacher will be leading the learning and the TA will be able to see if any children need assistance. We ask that all children log on using audio and camera, and then mute their device. If children wish to speak or ask a question, they can put their hand up or wave and the TA will be able to see that they want to speak. They will then need to unmute their audio in order to speak when the adults ask them to do so.
Before logging on and taking part in the Zoom lessons, we ask that you read through and follow closely the rules and regulations on the consent form at the bottom of this page.
To access Zoom click on the following link:
When setting up an ID please use your child's surname so the class teacher and TA can see who is joining the class chat. Nicknames or unusual log-ins make it very difficult to know who is accessing the class and they not be admitted.
Enter the Personal Meeting ID from the table below. You will then be asked for a password. For safety reason, the passwords will be sent out via text message and not published on the school website.
Once you have entered your password, you will be asked to open Zoom meetings and join with computer audio and video.
You will enter a 'waiting room' where you will have to wait for the class teacher to admit you.
We look forward to seeing you all online tomorrow! If you miss any lessons, the follow up work will be on the school website on each year group page under 'Parents' > 'Remote Learning'
If you have any questions you can contact class teachers via year group email addresses.
