Early Bird Morning Spellings

Select your colour and complete your pyramid spellings today.

Can you use them in a sentence?

English

WALT: plan a report.

Tomorrow you will write your non-chronological report on penguins, showing off all of the amazing facts you have learnt!

Today is about planning the report so you know what to do for your BIG WRITE tomorrow! smiley

When you are planning you need to be clear on:

What the heading of your report will be.

What you want to say in your introduction.

What subheadings you would like to use.

Which facts you want to include under the subheadings.

What picture you will use and what caption will you put with it.

What will be your fun fact in a bubble on your report.

You can use the template provided to plan or you can do similar on plain paper.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO WRITE YOUR FACTS IN FULL SENTENCES. SAVE THAT FOR TOMORROW, JUST WRITE IN NOTE FORM LIKE WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY.

If you would like to write more than 3 subheadings, feel free to add them on to the planning sheet. We would not recommend going over 5 though.

EXAMPLE

Too Tricky?!...

Focus on 2 subheadings for your report.

Fluent in 5

Maths

WALT: recognise 2-D and 3-D shapes.

Spr2.7.1 - Recognise 2D & 3D shapes

This is a new unit of work based on geometry - Shape!

Today you will learn the difference between 2 dimensional (2D) and 3 dimensional (3D) shapes.

2D shapes are flat and have 2 dimensions: length and width.

3D shapes have 3 dimensions: length, width and height.

You will look at the features of shapes to work out if they are 2d or 3d and begin to name the shapes.

PE

PE WALT: exercise using jumps.

Find a small space ideally with a soft landing.

How many different ways can you find to jump?

Bright ideas: - How far can you jump? - How high can you jump? - Can you jump from side to side? - Can you jump and turn? Can you jump far, high, right, left, backwards, forwards and repeat?

Now add some music to your jumping to make it more fun.
