English
Reading WALT: understand a text.
Today's reading lesson focuses on an example diary entry written by Otto.
You need to read it through and be able to get an idea of what Otto is speaking about by talking about what you have read with an adult. To show you understand it further, you will answer some questions based on what you have read.
Remember reading isn't just about reading the words; it is showing you understood!
Task 1
This task requires you to find evidence of features within the diary entry. Choose 5 coloured pens/pencils/highlighters and colour in the box next to the items in the key.
Conjunctions are words that join sentences together or make a sentence longer:

Time adverbials are sentence openers that reflect time:

WALA: Odd and even numbers
An even number is a number that can be divided into two equal groups and it is in the 2x table.
Even numbers always end in 2, 4, 6, 8 or 0.
An odd number is a number that cannot be divided into two equal groups.
Odd numbers end in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.
With an odd number of objects, if you shared them out then there would always be one left.
You can tell if any number is odd or even just by looking at the last digit. The number:
456 is even because it ends with a 6 and is not in the 2x table
271 is odd because it ends with a 1.
