English
This week we are concentrating on poetry and we will be writing a poetry review. We will be reading a poem by Julia Donaldson, understanding its meaning and give our opinions about it.
Click on the picture below to hear a reading of the poem.
Have a look at the power point below to learn a little more about Julia Donaldson.
Your task today is to read the poem below and annotate (make notes) around what each line, sentence and verse means to you. What do you think Julia Donaldson wants us to think? What does it make us think about or imagine? Can you spot any metaphors? Does it rhyme?
PE
Today is your final PE/dance lesson of the half term so it is time to wrap up your routine and make sure you are ready to perform. We would really love to see your final pieces so ask a grown up nicely if they can record you dancing and send it in to us on our Year 3 email address.
Reading Comprehension
This week we are looking at the author Julia Donaldson so we thought it would be nice for this weeks comprehension to be a well-loved Julia Donaldson story- Room on the Broom!
If you have the story at home that's great but if not you can watch the video below before answering the questions. It is quite a big booklet of questions and activities this week so do not feel like you have to print the whole thing out- you can have it open on your screen and write the answers on a piece of paper you already have at home.
Maths
We are continuing with measurement this week and looking at finding equivalent lengths using meters (m) and centimetres (cm).
Reminder!!
1m = 100cm
2m = 200cm
3m = 300cm
4m = 400cm
5m = 500cm
6.45m = 645cm
7.34m = 734m
and so on...
