Read the word. Remember tricky words cannot be sounded out like most of the words we read in phonics.
When you are confident you can read the word,
Look at it, say it, cover it, write it, check it
If you spell it correctly 3 times in a row, write a sentences with the word 'have' in.

Today we will be recapping how to subtract crossing 10 using a number line.

Tom has 15 sweets.
He gives 7 sweets to his friends.
How many sweets does he have left?
Start on the number 15 and make 7 jumps backwards as we are taking the sweets away.
The number you land on is your answer ... 8 sweets left.
