Today we would like you to read the alien words below. What sounds can you see in these words?
Can you choose an alien and write a very short story about it?
It can be as silly as you like but remember to use your phonics to help you with your spelling
Please remember, your child should be spending 1 hour on Maths a day. Half an hour of this lesson is delivered on zoom and the second half an hour is available in Teach it, Twist it and Deepen it activities. Please do not access these activities until after the Zoom session. Thank you.
WALT count in 5s fluently
Today we want you to have some fun whilst counting in 5s. The more that you practice, the quicker it will become. Below are some fun activties that all involve counting in 5s.
When counting, try whispering, shouting, say it like the Queen or even a gremlin!!
Watch the video below and then try the fun activities too.
You should be spending half an hour a day on your phonics activities.
Today we will be recapping the sounds from the online book you looked at yesterday.
Try reading these words below using the alternate graphemes for 'igh'.
Your task today is to roll a dice and read the word next to the number. If you read it correctly, colour it in. If you don't have a dice, you could make one or make some number cards to six and pick one out of a hat.
Please remember, your child should be spending 1 hour on English a day.

WALT spell tricky words
Today we are going to be spelling as many tricky words as we can.
Remember that tricky words cannot be sounded out easily and should be sight read if possible.
Practice reading the tricky words using the truck game on Phonics Play that is linked below.
Below there are look, say, cover, write sheets for all of the tricky words. These are for you to work through at your own pace at home and we don't expect you to complete all of them today.
Maybe pick one with some tricky words that you find the most difficult?
There are also some hidden tricky word games for each phase, choose which phase you think is most suitable for your reading ability or make your way through them one at a time.
Each subject should take you an hour to complete.
Science WALT name materials
This half term we will be learning all about materials and their properties.
Everything around us is made from a material. Each material has its own properties that allow us to tell the difference between them.
In this first lesson we are simply going to name some of the different materials we use every day.
Read through the powerpoint below and see if you can remember the names of any materials.
Then try the activity sheet below, what materials can you find in your home?
This afternoon we would like you to have a go at some phase 5 phonics games.
You can use phonics play, purple mash or even try the games below.
