This term we are reading The Disgusting Sandwich by Gareth Edwards and Hannah Shaw.
We began our learning dissecting our very own disgusting sandwich!
Our first piece of writing is all about the settings within the book. The children have used a variety of adjectives and noun phrases to describe the different places the sandwich travelled to. These included 'a gritty sandpit', 'a slimy, damp pond' and a 'peaceful birds' nest'. Why don't you ask your child to describe one of the places in the book? This week we were learning how to follow a set of instructions. What a brilliant job the children did! Sounds of satisfied munching could be heard in 1WB on Wednesday.
Next week the children will be writing their own perfect instructions.
