Welcome to 3S
Welcome to our class page. We are looking forward to a very exciting year. On here you will find some useful information regarding our learning in the week and months ahead.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Smith, Mr Palmer and Mrs Smith
In year 3, children are expected to complete three pieces of homework a week. This can be anything from attending clubs, swimming lessons, spelling practise, reading, practising times tables, handwriting, topic research and helping at home.
You will have lots of homework ideas for each topic on the back of every Learning Leaflet.
Each entry in your child's Home Learning Diary will receive one merit.
15 merits = Bronze
20 merits = Silver
25 merits = Gold
At the end of the half term the children's merits will be converted into learning loot to spend in the homework hut. Please support the children with their learning at home.
This term we will be learning all about Roman's, the army and how they invaded England.
In science this term we are investigating light.
We are conducting an experiment to see how UV rays will effect a piece of paper. We can't wait to see the results!
The children will receive new spellings every Friday and will be tested the following Friday. They will be attached into the children's home learning diaries. Practising their spellings can be written in their home learning diary to gain even more merits. If your child has lost their spellings, please don't hesitate to ask for a spare copy.
We have PE on a Friday afternoon.
Please ensure that your child comes to school in P.E. kit on these days.
Look out for your child's login to practise their times tables at home!
Ukuleles must be in school every Thursday!
Our challenge is to get everybody to at least a bronze award every half term!
REMEMBER! if you use Bugclub and your child reads the online books write it in the home learning diary.... every merit counts.
Children can also use letter join which is there to support children with their handwriting, again this will count as a merit in their home learning diary so please write it in.
