Once Upon A Time!

Footprint Mystery

Footprint Mystery 1
Footprint Mystery 2
Footprint Mystery 3
On Monday we arrived at school to find footprints leading from the classroom! We followed the footprints to find a beanstalk had grown in the library! We then read the story Jack and the Beanstalk and enjoyed completing activities based around our first topic of the year!

We have enjoyed learning lots of  exciting things this term! We have looked at the stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and now we are looking at the story of Little Red Riding hood.

Goldilocks came into our classroom whilst we were on the track and broke a chair and left an empty bowl of porridge, and Red Riding Hood forgot her red cloak and empty basket!

We have been using time connectives in our writing to help us write some instructions for making porridge and we even got to try some with Mrs Harrison and Mrs O'Brian in our afternoon sessions. We have made some bear toast using bananas and raisins with Mrs Wainwright and Mrs Clarke, building new beds for Goldilocks and Baskets for Red Riding Hood with Miss Bird and practising our handwriting skills and developing our fine motor skills with a variety of fun activities with Miss Pelling.

            Paddington in London
Picture 1

We came back into school to find a mystery suitcase and tag had been left on the floor. We peeped inside and discovered that the suitcase belonged to Paddington Bear! He had eaten all of the marmalade but had left us a book about his adventures in London!

This term we are looking at London and will be learning all about Paddington's adventures in the capital! We will look at capital cities in the United Kingdom, and go back to discover all about the Great Fire of London and how it happened! Look out for all of our exciting adventures this term.
