Important information about 1L

PE

On Mondays we have Outdoor PE and on Thursdays we have Indoor PE.

Children can come to school and remain in their PE kits all day on the days they have PE.

Please ensure that they are wearing correct kit and that long hair is tied back.

They can can wear tracksuit tops and bottoms in the cooler weather. If they have indoor PE, then can wear warmer sports clothing over their shorts and t-shirt, or choose to wear tracksuit bottoms for the day.

On Wednesdays we enjoy RE lessons with Mrs Wainwright!

If you go down to the woods today!

Our first topic is all about traditional tales. We are going to be reading lots of different traditional tales throughout the term and focusing on some of the main characters. We have already learnt about Goldilocks and the three bears and what happened to the porridge!

Find out more about this topic by reading our learning leaflet.

Next Stop ... London!

This half term we will be learning all about our capital city, London! We will be reading the story 'Katie in London', labelling famous landmarks and researching the Gunpowder Plot. We can't wait to  share all of the fascinating facts that we find with you!

01.11.21

Today we dressed up as something typically British to celebrate our new topic. We had the Queen, Paddington, footballers, colours of the Union Jack and even one of the Queens guards! Take a look at our outfits!

Forces Friday

12.11.21

Today we celebrated the armed forces by coming to school dressed as soldiers, sailors, nurses and evacuees! We learned all about evacuation and imagined what life would have been like for those who were evacuated. We designed our own war medal and learned all about rationing! Check out our amazing fancy dress!

Let's Celebrate!

This half term we started our topic with a party for a special snake's birthday!

We will be reading the story Boa's Bad Birthday and writing our own version, classifying animals and learning about trees and plants.

Check back soon to see what we have been up to in class!

Home learning

All children in the school are rewarded for reading and for learning at home. They will receive a merit every time they read and complete some homework and it is recorded in their log.

15 merits = Bronze

20 merits = Silver

25 merits = Gold

At the end of the half term the children's merits will be converted into learning loot to spend in the homework hut. Please support the children with their learning at home.

Home learning online

Please let us know if you need new logins or you need any support with these.

Bug Club

This is a website where children can access books that are tailored to the book band that they are  reading within school. It also includes questions to check their understanding and gives rewards too! This can be accessed on tablets as well as laptops. This reading can then be recorded in their diaries to earn more merits.

Purple Mash

This is another educational website that your child can access. It has games and activities for all areas of the curriculum.

Welcome to our school website!
