Important information about 1G
All children in the school are rewarded for reading and for learning at home. They will receive a merit every time they read and complete some homework and it is recorded in their log.
15 merits = Bronze
20 merits = Silver
25 merits = Gold
At the end of the half term the children's merits will be converted into learning loot to spend in the homework hut. Please support the children with their learning at home.
Home learning online
Please let us know if you need new logins or you need any support with these.
This is a website where children can access books that are tailored to the book band that they are reading within school. It also includes questions to check their understanding and gives rewards too! This can be accessed on tablets as well as laptops. This reading can then be recorded in their diaries to earn more merits.
This is another educational website that your child can access. It has games and activities for all areas of the curriculum.
1G will have outdoor PE on a Tuesday and indoor PE on a Wednesday.
Children can come to school and remain in their PE kits all day on the days they have PE.
Please ensure that they are wearing correct kit and that long hair is tied back.
They can can wear tracksuit tops and bottoms in the cooler weather. If they have indoor PE, then can wear warmer sports clothing over their shorts and t-shirt, or choose to wear tracksuit bottoms for the day.
World Book Day 2022
Today we read the story 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' by Charlie Mackesy. We dressed up as a woodland creature or our favourite book character. We all brought our favourite stories from home and read them together.
This half term we started our topic with a party for special snake's birthday!
We will be reading the story Boa's Bad Birthday and writing our own version, classifying animals and learning about trees and plants.
Check back soon to see what we have been up to in class!
Today we dressed up as something typically British to celebrate our new topic. We had the Queen, Paddington, footballers, colours of the Union Jack and an astronaut! We looked at a view of London and spotted key landmarks. We found Big Ben, London Eye, Tower Bridge, River Thames, Houses of Parliament, The Shard and The Gerkin. We built our landmarks out of lego and even made a collage of a London bus! Take a look at our photos.
If you go down to the woods today!
Our first topic is all about traditional tales. We are going to be reading lots of different traditional tales throughout the term and focusing on some of the main characters. We have already learnt about Goldilocks and the three bears and what happened to the porridge!
Find out more about this topic by reading our learning leaflet.
Genes for Jeans 2021
Today we came to school wearing our jeans to raise money and awareness for a charity who helps children with genetic disorders.
