We are very excited to be back and have kick started a new year of learning and challenges.

This year is going to be a little bit different to other years but we can't wait to have a classroom full of happy children again!

Our time slot for the start of our school day is 9:00 - 9:10.

Our time slot for the end of the day is 3:10 - 3:20.

We will be in a year group bubble so the children in Year 1 will have lunch and play times together.

If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to talk to us.

Please use this page to keep up-to-date with all the learning that is taking place in our classroom and any information about our new topics. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your continued support

Our Topic for Autumn 2 is:

To kick start our new topic, we dressed up as something typically British. We were joined by the Queen and her guards, Sir David Attenborough, Robin Hood, England footballers as well as colours of the Union Jack.

5.11.20 Today we learnt about Guy Fawkes and his plot to blow up King James I and the Government in 1605. Here are our rocket pictures to celebrate Bonfire Night.

13.11.20 Forces Friday! Today we celebrated the Armed Forces by coming dressed as soldiers and sailors, as doctors and nurses, evacuees and some of us came dressed in red white and blue. In class we learnt about evacuees and imagined what it would be like if we had to be evacuated. We designed a war medal for bravery, victory or service then we learnt about rationing and designed our favourite dinner to eat before rations started.

16.11.20 Anti-Bullying Week. Today we wore odd socks for anti-bullying awareness. We talked about how to be united and thought of slogans to promote kindness and anti-bullying in our class and around school.

04.12.20 BEND THE RULES DAY - we paid 50p per bent rule to help our PTA raise money to improve our Forest School

This year we would like children to bring the following things with them:

  • Lunch box/bag (if not having a school lunch)
  • Drink bottle
  • Reading book and diary on a Monday and a Friday
  • Pencil Case inc. pencil, sharpener, rubber, variety of pencil crayons, felt tips, ruler. This will stay in school.  Any resources you can not provide will be provided by school.
  • Coat

Please note, children will not be required to bring many items to school and therefore should not need a rucksack.

We aim to get 4 pieces of homework in their home learning diary a week. This can be anything from reading a couple of pages of their book, practising times tables to attending a club.

For each piece of home learning your child will receive a merit. These are counted up at the end of each half term and go towards home learning awards which your child can then use in the homework hut.

15 merits = Bronze award

20 merits = Silver award

25 merits = Gold award

Let's aim for everyone to achieve Gold!

PLEASE NOTE: Your child will change their reading books once a week on a Monday and they will need to be returned to school on a Friday to be quarantined ready for the following week.

They will bring home a book at their reading level as well as a book they have chosen from the book corner to read for pleasure.

This year, children will be coming into school dressed in their PE kits.

Our PE days are:

Tuesday - Outdoor P.E

(Please ensure they are in warm trousers and a jumper for the winter months)

Wednesday - Indoor P.E with Sports Plus

Autumn 1

Our first topic this year is all about Traditional Tales.

We will be reading the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears first.
