The children at Matchborough First School Academy thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day 2018. All the children looked amazing dressed as animals; there was such a variety and so much thought and effort had been put into the costume ideas.
At the start of the day we watched a production of 'The Gruffalo'. The children were fully engaged as they saw the characters and book come to life. The children then took part in drama workshops where they were taught about freeze frames, animal movements and sounds. Lots of fun learning happened in the classrooms too with children acting out stories, turning stories into cartoon strips and much much more.
Each class thought of a strange place that they could read a book. Have a look at the pictures below.
