Welcome to the Special Units' Page

We hope to keep you informed of the Special Units at Matchborough First School.

The Special Units are Nursery Plus and The Language Unit. All the staff who work in the Units are experienced teachers and TA's with a specialism in Special Educational Needs particularly in the field of speech, language and communication.

The Units are very much part of the mainstream school and children from both Units are included as much as possible within mainstream classes, key stages and whole school activities.

Both Units work very closely with multi-agency professionals and in particular with the Speech and Language Therapy Department Staff. We aim to build and maintain close relationships with parents of children within the Units.
