Welcome to 2C

Welcome to our class page! We are planning an exciting learning journey for the children in our class in Year 2. We will be keeping our page updated about the learning that is taking place in our classroom and our new topics. We appreciate your support and are happy to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have.

Mrs Cartwright and Mrs Fowkes smiley

Who's that guy?

This half term started with a bang with bonfire night which has started our topic well. We are learning all about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot.

The children have told us all about the fireworks  that they saw and have described them well using adjectives and similes.

In PE we have been learning a dance to the Monster Mash song.

The Monster Machine

In year 2 we had a special delivery with some strange things inside. We tried to guess what it could be...

There were pipes, tubes, photo frames, jars, wire, screws and springs. Do you know what it could be?

We found out that it was an inventor that had sent it to us and he builds Monster Machines.

Important information about 2C

Home learning

All children in the school are rewarded for reading and for learning at home. They will receive a merit every time they read and complete some homework and it is recorded in their log.

15 merits = Bronze

20 merits = Silver

25 merits = Gold

Last year our class were fantastic and they all received a certificate EVERY TERM! We are aiming for this again in Year 2. Please support us in doing this.

Children are also rewarded within the classroom for reading 50 times.

50 merits = Purple

The children will receive new spellings each week and will be tested the following Monday.

Practising their spellings can be written in their home learning diary to gain even more merits. If your child has lost their spellings, please don't hesitate to ask for a spare copy.

We have Indoor PE on a Thursday afternoon and Outdoor PE on a Friday afternoon.

Please ensure that your child has correct PE kit on those days and that it is named.

Welcome to our school website!
